Leveraging DSPM and AI to Solve Data Security Challenges

Skyhigh Security recently conducted new research in partnership with Enterprise Management Associates (EMA) to examine how organizations are approaching Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) amid the combined impact of growing data complexity, increasing regulatory pressures, and the rapid adoption of AI.

Findings from EMA:

• AI Data Protection Tops Priorities: Securing AI data flows has officially overtaken traditional exfiltration prevention as the primary reason organizations purchase data protection solutions.
  AI Regulations Dominate Compliance: Emerging, AI-specific regulations have displaced legacy compliance frameworks that defined corporate governance agendas for nearly a decade.
• Ungoverned Non-Human Identities: Automated pipelines, service accounts, and AI agents now represent the majority of data access activity and the highest-rated AI risk concern, yet they remain the least governed.
• Sovereignty Posture Disconnect: Strict geographic and sovereignty rules enforced at the infrastructure level are rarely being connected to the security programs tasked with enforcing data policies.
• DSPM is a Prerequisite for AI: Deploying autonomous AI without pre-existing classification and tracking tools is an unmanageable risk—data security must be operational before AI systems launch.
